Post-Wedding Picnic, PRECIOUS!

Love what this cute aunt & uncle did for newlyweds - a post-wedding picnic! Filled with some favorite treats, they included La Plates Gingham Plates + a few Frost Cups. Thanks for letting us be a part of the special day!

Adoring Acrylic / Lucite

If you follow La Plates on Pinterest, you'll often see us pinning images to our Acrylic + Lucite Board. We sell all kinds of acrylic & lucite, but our obsession goes much deeper... On a recent trip to visit some of my besties in the Bahamas, I couldn't help but snap a few photos of these fab pieces. The entire house was amazing (Marianna Lane Interiors), but I only went snap crazy on these crystal clear gems:

An obsession continues...

Last Fall after a little surgery, I had to stay in bed for a week. It was suppose to be a bit longer, but seriously people - there were monograms to create! Anywho, what does one do with this bed rest prescription, but sign up for Netflix & become addicted to multiple shows & binge watch every episode?!

Today is the day that one of my favs comes back - Orange is the New Black. In honor of the return, we rounded up our favorite orangies from La Plates:
Starting top left & going clockwise:

Cutting Board (small) - Mosaic with Script mono
Guest Napkins - Plush with Circle mono
Penelope Wallet in Mango
Platter - Vines with Roman mono
Vineyard Round Necklace (large) - Script mono
Melamine Bowl - Ziggy with Zippy text
Celly Case - Mosaic with Script
VIP Wallet in Mango

Let us know if we can help get you decked out in ORANGE for Summer - it's the new black!

Minecraft Party

I just had a crash course on Minecraft. If your kiddo is requesting a party with the same theme, let me give you the shortcut version & all the links to helpful sources. Before this event, I thought it was "Mindcraft", like my child was using his mind to create structures. Through all my new BFF's via Pinterest, I learned so much more & I pulled off a party that my son said was "EPIC"!

Decor was basic & was made out of things I picked up at Hobby Lobby or Target - the invitation & a lot of the signage, I created using the Minecraft font. You can find invitations & signs on Etsy, if you don't want to make them. Throughout the party, we had tunes playing from this YouTube playlist.

Special order La Plates - designed by the birthday boy!

There's so much to do with food for a Minecraft party - I had my kiddo pick out his favorite items and we used those. If I had it to do over, I might work on creating more non-sugar related items, but it was a party, right?!
Sand, dirt & coal were made from Rice & Cocoa Crispies...

...just added black gel food coloring to make coal.

licorice = TNT, Rolos = gold

You can now purchase "Steve" heads from Target, but I ended up making ours because my son wanted a blonde version...and I watched this video to figure it out, sorry no shortcut.

The activities we planned worked out pretty well - corralling 6 & 7 year old boys is tough no matter what you're organizing them to do!

Who knew the old-fashioned games would prove to be so fun! They went back 2 & 3 times to get another chance at the pig.

I hadn't made a pinata in years...sadly, our ghast was a little too hefty & it took the hubs whacking him a couple of times before the candy explosion. No one seemed to care & it was pretty funny to watch.

Mini crafting tables were used as tic-tac-toe boards...something I hadn't even planned!

Here's the disaster of a table - post sugar & games. You can see we also played BINGO, cute & there are different versions for different age groups.

This guy couldn't have been more excited about his cake. He wanted a TCBY cake & our fabulous local store did it exactly to his drawn request...took them red fruit roll-ups to make the design on top.

One happy 7 year old!

HOOPLA...how do I love thee?

Holy Minecraft!

So the planning has begun - we have a house full of obsessed Minecrafters! I whipped up this plate, thinking I'd surprise the birthday boy with cake on it, the day of his party. He saw it 3 weeks early and went BONKERS. Now I'm using it to my advantage...veggies look better as creepers!

Inspiration from the garden

Inspiration can pop up anywhere. While traveling, I find my mind is open to seeing pattern, color & design all around me. On our recent trip to Naples, Florida, I couldn't stop snapping photos at Driftwood Garden Center. If you're in the area, stop by - you're sure to be inspired!

Even Prince George loves it personalized!

We've been big fans of the Royal fam for ages. From Diana & Charles' wedding to Kate & Will's, we've followed along, moment by moment via tv. Once the newest royal arrived, we designed La Plates fit for a prince

We LOVED the most recent pic of the family showing their love for personalized pieces...if only we could get George his La Plates...

Rested & Revived!

Sometimes you need to step away from it all to feel completely energized - that what Spring Break 2014 did for me! It's been a long winter for all. Taking time to travel to the warm beaches of good old Florida was all it took. Naples, Marco Island, Captiva & Sanibel Islands are the places we called home for a few fun-filled, family days. Can't wait to plan for 2015!

Spring Fling!

We've stepped away for a quick R & R trip for Spring Break 2014. While away, you should shop away with discount code: SPRING10! Expires 4.1.14

Beach Swag Bag

We've been working with a soon-to-be mother-in-law that rocks! She wants the bride and all her friends and family to be set for a weekend at her beach house. Checkout what we put together for the upcoming bachelorette party - can't imagine the Oscar swag was much better!
After a few conversations, we came up with all the items the bride & her posse would need for the bachelorette weekend...

A fab beach bag, monogrammed with each gal's initials.

A hat with a custom logo we whipped up for the weekend - we used this on cocktail napkins & cups too.

A fab makeup bag - 2 in one!

These gorgeous cork & metallic gold are going to be the envy of all of Jupiter Island!

While these gals are going to have lots of fun, we want to keep them hydrated in style.

Wrapped and ready to make the trip from chilly Kansas to sunny Florida - can't wait to hear about all the fun!
